Build a usage based insurance products and test it with real customers

Our Approach

We built a mobile application that gathered data from gyroscopes and GPS and combined with datasets about speed limits, criminality in certain locations to create a new insurance model. We verified that a viable model can be built using this data and connected it to a visualization backend that allowed us to beta test different approaches

Outcomes

  • We found that the important metric was the data tick rate so that we can balance between generating GBs of data and providing a good measurement
  • We verified proved the technology and the data stack can handle 1000s of ongoing sessions
  • We proved scaling of the system internationally using 3rd party datasets

Online lead generation redesign for the largest loan provider in China

We were tasked with redesigning the Homecredit China corporate site in order to drive online loan sales. We used a lean startup approach on site in Shenzhen and Tianjin with direct customer research and managed to deliver the new site within three months, thus creating a new online revenue stream and support for Chinese online activities. We continued to support Chinese innovation activities with a dedicated team.
